The Driveway
Milo and I aren't walking as far as we should be. It's been a little hard to make the trip with the wind blowing. I had to warn Milo that there is another storm due to arrive on Thursday. That will be 4 storms in 4 weeks. We had a terrible wind storm on Sunday night. The wind blew constantly at 30 MPH with gusts from 70-90 MPH. The wind combined with the 42" of snow gave us two 5' snow drifts on our driveway. My son, Mike, enjoyed it.....Monday was a snow day...no school. We did not lose power but we did lose our Internet service. Jan is heading off to CostCo (food store) to restock the pantry. We'll see what this next storm brings us. This is going to be a very cold storm, with temperatures below zero and 2"-3" of snow each of the four days it is suppose to last. BURRRRRR!!!!!!!!
The recent avalanche that was in the news was about 40 miles from us, at least by the way the crow flows. Avalanches are common when we get these kind of snow storms. There are three levels of snow and the top one can easily slide off and cause an avalanche. We are use to seeing them, although they usually don't take a couple of cars off the road.
It's cold but at least it is good snuggling weather!
Smiles,
David

Oh my! Yes, good snuggling weather indeed! I hope you all stay safe and warm in the next round of storming!
be well,
Dawn
that looks beautiful. I must say I don't miss the snow much. It has only snowed once so far in IL. this year.
Looks lovely, but those high winds must make a frightening windchill!
Usually, Ohio too is snow covered, but we seem to be getting hit with 50 and sunny days this winter. Maybe if ya'll would stop hogging it we would get some.
You, Milo and the rest of your family, take care and stay warm!

UGH keep the snow there David
the weather has been really weird here in NY predicions of 60 degree weather this weekend and we were in the 70's last weekend. Can you believe that?
I'm not gonna complain too much
keep warm big hugs,
Marina
Hi David !!!!!!!! Your shots of the snow are amazing. This needs to be put on a postcard. Your great with a camera. Thanks for sharing this with us. Its been cold here too but we don't get any snow. You could mail me some.
David, I did hear about that avalanche and was wondering how close it was to you and Deb. Colorado is absolutely getting pounded this winter. This should be helping the drought conditions, no? Chris
David,
I love your photos of all the snow you have been having. We are experiencing wild storms here in the UK, but the high winds are bringing rain, not snow. It is very mild this winter so far! I saw the avalanche on the news and did wonder if it was near where you live. Stay warm and safe in the cold weather and keep posting photos.
Kate.

Keep warm. Love the new pic on your sidebar you look much more relaxed and happy :) Vicky
It must be really trying having all those storms one after another. I am also sure it is hard shoveling all the snow. However, I must tell you the pictures are fantastic and it looks like a winter wonderland.
I think I followed a journal link from Indigo if I remember correctly. Denver has offered me a few headaches at work lately ... if it wasn't the snow in CO, it would be hurricanes or something else happening to cause the headaches. The photograph is beautiful with all the snow. I can't imagine walking to long with the wind blowing like that. I only made it around the block before I got too cold. I hope you don't mind if I visit again. :-)

Waiting to hear from you, David... how are things in Sunshine, Colorado? Bea
And to think, I was wishing for some snow. Clearly, my wish got mixed up and it hit too far to the East! I hope your staying warm, safe and comfy indoors!

I guess I'm going to have to be content with looking at pictures of your snow. I am glad that you have been able to enjoy it and not be too inconvenienced by it.

I've been walking Grizzly or should I say he's been walking me since we now have snow. That Husky in him makes him a total snow dog. His joints have really gotten bad in the past year. I've had to double the Glycoflex but you would never know when he gets into the snow. He frolics around like a young pup. Stay warm. Glad the pantry is getting stocked. Chris
I wanna play!~ :-)
Blessings!~

P.S. Palmer Lake got 36 inches during the blizzard in March of 2002 while we lived there. We were snowed in for two days. It was heaven. :-)
