There is mixed news coming out of Sunshine on this eve of my 60th birthday. At the end of my last entry, I asked for some prayers. The good news is that Mary's procedure was successful. We are expecting to see her smiling face walking with us in the mornings.
Now the sad news. We lost our good friend and neighbor, Donna, yesterday morning. She will be greatly missed. She kept her smile and held her head high as she passed with great dignity. I will fly the flag at half-staff in her honor until Monday.

- I am in my mid 60's living in Erie, Colorado. For over 20 years, my family and I lived the mountain community of Sunshine, Colorado. Sunshine is 6 miles west of Boulder, Colorado at an altitude of 7,200 feet above sea level. On Labor day 2011 a terrible fire took our house. Our hearts and souls are still in Sunshine, although physically, we are not. I used to walk everyday with our dog, Milo. He helped me raise the US flag at the school house. Milo still lives in Sunshine with his mother and sister. A mountain dog does not like fences.

Happy 60th hon! Sorry I missed your last post. Glad to hear Mary's procedure was successful. Sad to hear Donna has passed on. It's a wonderful tradition lowering the flag at half mast in honor of those who have gone on.
We are at the time in our lives were it seems friends and family leave us more and more, yes...we need to hold those we love and care about close, for life is indeed so very short.
I'm starting to realize that more and more these days with my daughter's wedding and Doc's Mom's burial tomorrow, life just seems to be passing a little too swift...(Hugs) Indigo

Aw shucks, I missed your birthday? So sorry. Happy belated! My baby girl turned sweet 16 on May 23rd. Time sure does fly by. Glad Mary's procedure was successful and sorry to hear of your friend's passing.
