- I am in my mid 60's living in Erie, Colorado. For over 20 years, my family and I lived the mountain community of Sunshine, Colorado. Sunshine is 6 miles west of Boulder, Colorado at an altitude of 7,200 feet above sea level. On Labor day 2011 a terrible fire took our house. Our hearts and souls are still in Sunshine, although physically, we are not. I used to walk everyday with our dog, Milo. He helped me raise the US flag at the school house. Milo still lives in Sunshine with his mother and sister. A mountain dog does not like fences.

Looking forward to your account, David - wish I could be there, but 4,500 miles is a wee bit far to go...
I would love to join because it sounds like the cutest quaint town ever! Unfortunatley I cannot join you because I live in the Midwest. Blah!
Someday, when I do get to Sunshine, I will visit you. :)
